Matt Joudrey
Host, Research, Audio Production
Born 1977 on the Isle of Cape Breton Matt's early musical influences were REM, The Cure, and Joy Division. In a nostalgic reflection Matt remembers sitting at his drawing table in his early teens listening to "Murmur" REM's first LP while eating skittles. He began collecting records in the very early 90's as the current medium (cassette tapes) were being fazed out and the bands he wanted to listen to could not be obtained on Compact Disc. Matt also had his own radio show during his college days. The show was cancelled due to mischief and antics not considered suitable for broadcast. In hindsight Matt blames having fallen in with the wrong crowd and heavy candy abuse for the shows cancellation. There is also the still frequently discussed 24 hour Ramones party. Matt has also been a large collector of books, comics, and original art. Matt has every nerds dream of discovering a large golden age comic collection. However in 2003 Matt had the great fortune of discovering an equivalent, large, high grade collection of rock, punk, garage, shoegaze, underground and psych rock records, among others. He also maintains a large collection of Jazz and his personal favourite the Blues. Matt hates very little but purse dogs and small children, he finds both useless. Of course he's kidding, or is he.
